1. Introduction

AgroSaarthi – Smart Farming Companion ("AgroSaarthi", "we", "our", or "us") is designed to work primarily offline and to respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the AgroSaarthi mobile application handles information when you use it.

By installing or using AgroSaarthi, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

AgroSaarthi does not require you to create an account, sign in, or share your farm data with us.

2.1 Information stored on your device

When you use the app, you may enter information such as:

• Farm details (e.g., farm name, area, soil type, irrigation type).
• Crop cycles, activities, and notes.
• Financial records like income and expenses.
• Saved calculator inputs and outputs.
• Optional profile information (e.g., your name, region, crop preferences).

This information is stored locally on your device using technologies such as IndexedDB or local storage. We do not receive or store this data on our own servers.

2.2 No automatic collection by the developer

• We do not run our own analytics, tracking, or advertising on your data.
• We do not collect device identifiers, contacts, or precise location for our own use.
• We do not operate any cloud backend that contains your farm records by default.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Because your data stays on your device, it is used solely to provide and improve the app's features for you, including:

• Calculating and visualizing farm expenses, income, and reports.
• Managing farms, crop cycles, and activity logs.
• Generating offline notifications and reminders within the app.
• Creating exports or backups when you explicitly request them.

We do not process your data on our servers and do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Export and Backup

AgroSaarthi may offer features to export or import your data (for example, as JSON files or reports):

• Exports are triggered only when you choose to create a backup or report.
• Exported files are stored wherever you choose (such as device storage, email, or cloud drive).
• AgroSaarthi does not automatically upload your exports to any server or keep a copy outside your device.
• You are responsible for the privacy and security of files once you save or share them outside the app.

5. Permissions Used by the App

The app may request certain permissions so specific features can work. Permissions are only used for the features you choose to use.

5.1 Storage / Files / Photos

• Used to save and load backup files (e.g., JSON exports).
• Used to attach and display images (e.g., receipts or crop-related photos) inside the app.
• Access is only used when you explicitly choose to export, import, or attach a file or image.

5.2 Camera

Used when you choose to capture a photo (for example, scanning a receipt for OCR or attaching an image to a record). Images are processed on your device and stored locally; they are not sent to our servers.

5.3 Network / Internet (if requested by the OS)

The app may use internet access for updates, documentation, or optional online features. Your farm data and financial details are not transmitted to the developer's servers for storage or profiling. The app does not access your contacts, SMS, microphone, or precise location.

You can change permission choices at any time in your device settings, but some features may stop working if permissions are disabled.

6. Third-Party Libraries and Services

AgroSaarthi may use third-party libraries (for example, for local database storage or on-device text recognition). These libraries are integrated into the app to run on your device.

• We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not integrate remote analytics services that send your farm data to external servers.
• Where a library provider has its own privacy policy, their code is used in a way that does not require uploading your farm records by default.

7. Data Security

Your farm data, financial entries, and profile information are stored on your device. We use reasonable technical practices in the app (such as structured local storage) to help keep data consistent. We do not control the physical security of your device.

To protect your data, we recommend:

• Enabling screen lock, biometric authentication, or device encryption.
• Not sharing your device with untrusted persons.
• Regularly backing up your data if needed and storing backups securely.

If you uninstall AgroSaarthi or clear the app's data, the data stored by the app on that device will be removed and cannot be recovered by us.

8. Children's Privacy

AgroSaarthi is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has used AgroSaarthi and provided personal information that is of concern, please contact us so we can provide guidance on how to delete the data from the device.

9. Your Rights and Control

Because we do not have access to your data on our servers, your control happens mainly on your own device:

• You can view, edit, and delete your records directly in the app.
• You can export your data for backup or migration.
• You can delete all app data by uninstalling AgroSaarthi or clearing its storage from your device settings.

If you contact us about privacy, we can answer questions and provide guidance, but we cannot access or modify the data stored on your device.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new app features or changes in how the app works. We may also update it to comply with changes in laws or regulatory guidance.

When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. In some cases, we may show a notice inside the app or on our website. Your continued use of AgroSaarthi after changes are published means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
